On behalf of Tournament Director Dave Nelson and the Great Plains PVA, thank you to all the bowlers who attended the inaugural Great Plains PVA/AWBA Invitational. We can only have one “first” tournament and thanks to everyone involved, it was a success! Great Plains PVA is honored to join the PVA/AWBA bowling series and we appreciate the support we received from Alan Earl at National PVA and Gary Ryan at AWBA before and during the tournament.

We had 20 bowlers compete in this year’s tournament and six of them were from Great Plains PVA. For five of the six, it was their first AWBA sanctioned tournament and they saw first hand the high level of skill and competition this series presents along with the good-natured camaraderie of the bowlers.

Congratulations to all the division winners including: Wayne Webber and Dave Roberts for taking 1st Place in Doubles, Kenneth Mumford for his 1st Place in Handicap A Division, Randy Squier for his 1st Place in Handicap B Division, and Eddy Hutchens for his 1st Place in Scratch Division! Eddy’s team also took 1st Place in Friday’s Up/Down tournament.

Special thanks to Thunderbowl Lanes for being a great host, to Terry Nelson for being our tireless scorekeeper, to our awesome PVA volunteers, and to all our local and regional sponsors. We also really appreciate the kind words, compliments, and suggestions from this year’s bowlers. Our continued goal is to put on a first-class tournament and welcome bowlers from across the country. Tournament Director, Dave Nelson and the Great Plains PVA members and staff are already gearing up for our 2018 tournament and we look forward to seeing everyone next July!
