The 2019 Las Vegas Invitational was held at the Strike Zone Bowling Center in the Sunset Station Casino and hosted 36 bowlers making the trip and participating in this end of year bowling tour stop. It was a pleasure to welcome for the first time 3 new AWBA tournament bowlers; Skip Johnson from Florida, Mike Tucker, Oklahoma, and Jamie Burgos, Nevada. The Tournament began Thursday with Doubles competition and coming away with the win for their first Doubles Victory, Marc Fenn and new bowler Jamie Burgos, both of Las Vegas. Congrats to both. Friday morning, The first set of Singles began and as usual, the Vegas lanes proved to be challenging. The evening was enjoyed by many participating in the Up/Down Event, where prizes, bowling equipment, apparel, as well as 50/50 raffle were won by very happy participants. We had the wonderful privilege of having 3 VIP’s joined the crowd this year. The one and only Pete Weber, PBA Hall of Fame and with winner of every major bowling championship throughout his great career, Leanne Hulsenburg, USBC Hall of Fame, PWBA Hall of Fame, and the winner of 27 titles during her great career, and Darren Tang, one of the young guns of todays bowling world, bowled with many of those in attendance. A great night for all to enjoy.

Saturday and Sunday completed singles sets 3 through 5, with a stair step roll off of all divisions Sunday afternoon. In the Scratch Div. top 5 seeds were George Holscher, Eddy Hutchens, David Nelson, LE Curtis, and Peter Arballo. George outlasted Eddy for the Scratch Division Win. In A Division, the top 5 seeds were, Johnnie Baylark, Frank Goebel, Dan Spotts, Gary Poole, and Terry Stewart. In the end, Johnnie Baylark took the title. In the B Division, the top 5 were Bill Burns, Dan Formento, Mike Tucker, Lawrence Brown and Larry Chrislip. Dan Formento took his second title winning the B Division. Congratulations to all of the winners, and great bowling to everyone who participated.
