PROPOSED PAYOFF TOURNAMENT BUDGET | GOLDEN STATE ENTRY FORM
Greetings Fellow Bowler:
I would like to invite you to join us here at Fountain Bowl for the “Golden State Open Wheelchair Bowling Tournament”, September 12th-14th. I as your Tournament Director and the Fountain Bowl Staff, welcome you to beautiful and wonderful Southern California, if you remember the AWBA 2008 National that was held here at Fountain Bowl. Remember bowlers, this is a sanctioned tournament with the AWBA and USBC, so don’t forget your membership cards. Remember no cards, no prize money, and no awards. We will be using the house shot for this tournament. The AWBA Secretary Gary Ryan will be verifying membership at check-in during the tournament.
ATTENTION ALL BOWLERS: By IRS law, all winners of prize money of $600 or more are required to fill out and sign an IRS Form 1099. There will be no exceptions! Be sure to sign the enclosed waiver!
Novice Bowlers (those entering without an established league or AWBA average) will not be eligible for prize money!
While you are here, take some time to go and visit Huntington Beach and its wonderful pier. There you can watch the Pacific Ocean roll in and out as far as the eye can see. You might see local surfers riding the waves or you may get lucky to see the dolphins running, or may be a whale may breech from right out of the ocean, you never know what may happen.
If you are looking a place to eat, there are restaurants within a mile or two from the bowling center or if you prefer a classier restaurant to eat at, Morton’s Steak House and Duke’s of Huntington Beach are a few miles further but sometimes worth the drive for nice steak or seafood dinner by the Oceanside. If you happen to like ribs, the Newport Rib Company will definitely satisfy your appetite. If you should need directions to these restaurants, please ask either Kevin or Al for directions. They may even know a little hide away place that serves good food for a reasonable price.
We are glad that you are attending the Golden State Open Wheelchair Bowling Tournament, that you will have much success on the lanes, that you return home victorious and look into returning to Southern California to join us again next year. Should you have any questions, please give me a call at 714-839-2056 home phone or 714-343-2295 cell phone and I will be available most of the time and should I not be home, leave a message and a phone number to return the call.
Good luck on the lanes and please enjoy your tournament and visit to Southern California
Your Tournament Director;
Kevin R Schaefer
