Charcot-Marie-Tooth, or CMT, is the most commonly inherited peripheral neuropathy, affecting 2.6 million people worldwide.  It is a slowly progressive disorder causing loss of function and/or sensation in the lower legs/feet and arms/hands.  The month of September has been proclaimed “CMT Awareness Month” and as such, special events throughout have been scheduled to bring awareness to this often unheard of disorder.

Myself being effected by CMT and a member of the AWBA helped organize this special bowling event for the Tampa Bay Area CMT Support group, to bring awareness of CMT and to introduce those utilizing or confined to a wheelchair that they too could enjoy the great sport and social aspect of bowling.
